Space Ex·plo·ra·tion Space exploration is the ongoing discovery and exploration of celestial structures in outer space by means of continuously evolving and growing space technology. For centuries, space exploration was limited to what astronomers could observe from Earth. It wasn’t until the mid-20th century that humans began to physically explore space and U.S. workers continue to be active participants in the research, design, and communications involved in extraterrestrial travel.
Recently NASA shut down its Space Shuttle program. Between the first launch on April 12, 1981, and the final landing on July 21, 2011, NASA's space shuttle fleet Columbia, Challenger, Discovery, Atlantis and Endeavor flew 135 missions, helped construct the International Space Station and inspired generations. Now it is up to private companies to explore the many undiscovered mysteries of space.

The Five W's of Space ExplorationWho? The first person to go to and explore outer space was cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin from Russia. It doesnt stop there as of right now there are 6 governmenet agencies for space exploration - the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), the European Space Agency (ESA), the China National Space Administration (CNSA), the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and the Russian Federal Space Agency (RFSA
What? Space exploration is the ongoing discovery and exploration of celestial structures in outer space by means of continuously evolving and growing space technology.
When? Space exploration has been going on since the time of Galileo but modern exploration began on October 4, 1957, when the Soviets launched the first artificial satellite. Modern space exploration has been going on for many decades till now and most likely won't ever stop.
Where? Humanity has gone far into explore space but we have only explored the tip of the iceberg. We have gone to the moon, around all the planets, landed on many other moons of other plants and flew by asteroids and comets. There is so much more dicoveries and resources to be found and but now its up to private companies to find
Why? Humanity's interest in the heavens has been universal and enduring. Humans are driven to explore the unknown, discover new worlds, push the boundaries of our scientific and technical limits, and then push further. The intangible desire to explore and challenge the boundaries of what we know and where we have been has provided benefits to our society for centuries. Also the Earth is running out of many things like coal, oil, etc but space is the frontier to find new resources.
